Recently a Gainesville, Florida, client visited us with his 2016 Ford to get his F-250 audio system upgraded. We see a lot of Ford Super Duty Trucks in our install bay, so we recommended one of our proven system designs.
The first component in this system design is the Audio Control LC2I Active Line Level Converter. This product allows us to maximize the sound quality of the aftermarket amplifier by converting the factory audio system to a clean and usable signal.
The next step was choosing an amplifier. This client plans to upgrade his speakers in the future, so we installed a Kenwood x801-5 5 channel amplifier. We wired the amp to the factory speakers, allowing us to maximize the sound they produce. The fifth channel of the amp provides 500 watts of power to a pair of JL Audio CP108lgw3v3, including two 8w3 subwoofers in a ported enclosure.
The custom sound system provides the client with plenty of bass output and cleaned up the factory speakers, providing a clear, detailed audio system.
