A client from Gainesville recently came to Sound Depot and Performance to inquire about paint protection, window tinting and adding a radar detector to a 2018 BMW M2. He planned to protect every aspect of the car so that he could enjoy it without concern. BMW M2 Paint Protection with Scotchgard Pro Film
The paint protection film was skillfully installed.
To serve as a barrier against stone chips, scuffs, and scratches we covered almost the entire vehicle with Pro Series 3M Scotchgard paint protection film. This durable urethane film adheres directly to the paint surface. Thanks to its flawless finish, it looks invisible once applied. The 6-mil thick film features a self-healing surface that will absorb and eliminate light scratches and scuffs when exposed to the sun. The film also protects the paint finish against staining and discoloration from road tar, bird droppings and tree sap. 3M backs this amazing film with a 10-year warranty against peeling, cracking, bubbling and yellowing.
3M Crystalline Window Tint
We computer cut our tint for maximum precision.
With the exterior of the vehicle protected, it was time to focus on the comfort and safety of the driver and passengers. The client chose our top-of-the-line 3M Crystalline window tint for the vehicle. We installed CR40 40% film on the side and rear windows and CR70 70% film on the windshield.
3M Crystalline film leads the industry in UV and IR energy rejection. UV energy is responsible for skin damage and the fading of materials. IR energy is what heats up the interior of your car. With Crystalline installed on all the windows, this client knew his car would be as comfortable as possible.
Escort Radar Detector and Laser Protection
The last step in this protection package was an Escort Max 360 radar detector and an Escort ZR5 laser shifter package. We mounted the Max 360 under the rearview mirror using a BlendMount bracket. The bracket attaches to the mirror mount and holds the detector in a perfect position to provide exceptional long-range sensitivity. The ZR5 laser shifter package includes a pair of Escorts ShifterMax laser transceivers. We mounted the ShifterMax units in the lower front grille to provide even coverage of the front of the vehicle. If the police targets the vehicle with a laser, the ShifterMax unit sends a distorted response that the laser gun can’t decipher.

With everything installed, it was time to return this pristine sport coupe to the owner. He was impressed with the flawless finish of the paint protection film and loves the look of the window tint.
