Recently, one of our repeat clients brought his work truck by for a simple audio system. This beautiful Ford F-100 truck provides some challenges because it was not set up for today’s technology and speaker placements. After spending a few minutes looking over the truck, we came up with a plan and proceeded to do the work.
For the main source, the client chose the Kenwood KDX-X501BT AM/FM Bluetooth CD receiver. This unit provided all the sources the client needed to listen to his CDs or music from his phone.
For the sound, the client opted for two pairs of Kenwood eXcelon speakers. In the front, we installed the KFC-X174 6.5″ two-way coaxial speakers. For the rear, he chose the KFX- x694 6×9 ” two-way coaxial speaker. To make it fit, we custom-built a simple speaker panel for the front doors. We placed the rear speakers behind the rear seat in a pre-fabricated 6×9 enclosure.
When the client came by to pick up the classic Ford F-100, he was pleased with the clean but simple design.
