One of our customers sent a friend to Sound Depot and Performance to have his 2016 Everglades 243cc audio system upgraded. We looked over the boat and made a few suggestions for how we could improve the factory audio system. The client liked our plan, so we scheduled an appointment to perform the installation.
With the factory-installed Fusion radio serving as the source for the new system, we ran three sets of interconnect cables from the radio to a JL Audio M700/5 amplifier. We mounted the amp on a water-resistant panel in the head compartment. Since the amp would be visible to anyone visiting that space, we took a little extra care to ensure the wiring was perfect.
For speakers, we started with two pairs of JL Audio M650-CX-CG-Wh 6.5-inch marine coaxial speakers. We mounted one pair of speakers in the hard top over the center console. We mounted the second set in the bow on either side of the casting platform. We mounted a JL Audio JLM10IB5-CG-Wh on the side of the head compartment.
