Recently, a client from here in Gainesville, FL, was referred to us by one of his friends for an audio system upgrade. His 2016 Toyota Tundra stereo system just didn’t play as loudly as he wanted, and it didn’t sound very good. The client told us what he liked about the truck, and what he wanted to improve.
We installed a set of Hertz Mille Legend component speakers in the front doors of the truck. The MPK165.3 set includes a pair of 6.5-inch woofers, a set of tweeters and passive crossover networks. We mounted the woofers in the factory door locations, then treated the doors with Mesa sound deadening and FAST speaker rings. We installed the tweeters in the factory locations.
The client chose a JL Audio Stealthbox for this Tundra. The enclosure houses a pair of JL 10TW3 subwoofers and fits behind the rear seat. We installed a JL Audio HD900/5 amp and AudioControl LC2i under the seat. We used our test equipment to set up the AudioControl interface and the gains on the amp.
The client loved the way the new system sounded. Much clearer, better bass and way more volume!
