Apple iOS and Carplay

One of the most talked-about features of the DDX6902S is the Apple Carplay feature. Carplay is a dedicated interface for your Apple iPhone that lets you check your e-mail, send and receive text messages, choose the music you want to listen to, and use Apple Maps for navigation. Carplay has a simple and clean interface with large, easy-to-read buttons. You can control almost every feature of Carplay using your voice, thanks to Siri – just ask for your favorite song, a steakhouse nearby or to send your co-worker a message. All you have to do is plug your Lightning cable into your phone and the DDX6902S automatically launches Carplay. There are no fancy video cables or adapters to buy.

Media Mastermind

The DDX6902S will play back all the popular compressed media file formats. You get access to MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV and FLAC audio files simply by copying them to a USB memory stick. You can watch MPEG 1 and 2, MPEG4, H.264 and WMV video files just as easily. Audio from your iPhone or Android smartphone is available through the USB interface or via Bluetooth audio streaming. You can play conventional CDs and DVDs, or add a SiriusXM tuner for satellite radio. The DDX6902S features a built-in HD radio tuner, and it lets you use Pandora with your Android or iPhone to listen to your favorite genre of music.

Integration

The DDX6902S is a leader in vehicle integration, thanks to full support for the iDatalink Maestro system. Depending on your vehicle, you can use the factory climate controls and parking sensors, and even see vehicle information on a dashboard layout. It retains factory entertainment systems like Ford Sync, and you can even see what’s playing on a factory display.
