A client from here in Gainesville was referred to Sound Depot and Performance by a friend for a new radio in his 2001 Porsche 911. The client wanted to be able to stream audio from his phone and make phone calls using Bluetooth. After looking at several source unit options on our display, he chose a Kenwood KDC-X302 single-DIN CD receiver and we scheduled a time and date for the installation.
When the Porsche arrived, we removed the factory radio and wired up an adapter harness so the Kenwood power plug would go in the factory Porsche radio connector. These wire harness adapters mean we don’t have to modify the factory wiring in the car in any way.
The new radio has the Bluetooth features the client was after and will play MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV and FLAC digital audio files from a USB memory stick. He can also connect an iPhone or Android phone directly to the USB port on the front of the radio to charge it or play music.
If you are in the Gainesville area and want to upgrade the audio system in your sports car, drop by Sound Depot and Performance or send us an e-mail.
