To allow us to install new amplifiers and speakers, we make use of an integration processor like the AudioControl LC2i Active Line Output Converter. It’s Alive
Unlike passive line output converters, the LC2i requires an accessory and ground connection. This means that it can do much more than just reduce the voltage of the signals being sent to it for use with an amplifier. AudioControl includes their GTO circuit to turn on external amplifiers. When the LC2i detects the presence of an audio signal, it activates a 12 V output that we can use to trigger the remote input terminal on an amplifier or equalizer. Another benefit of the LC2i being an active device is that we can increase the voltage of a signal if required. The LC2i will put out up to 9.5 Vrms of clean, clear audio to make even the most robust amplifier happy.
The Key To Better Bass
Some factory radios decrease the amount of bass they put out to help prevent small speakers from being damaged. When you connect an amp through a conventional line output converter, the reduced bass signal makes your new speakers and subwoofers sound boring and flat. The amazing AccuBASS circuit in the LC2i lets us restore that bass, so your music sounds rich and full.
Ready For Anything
The LC2i will accept signals from amplifiers as powerful as 400 watts without over-driving the input stage. The LC2i features a pair of stereo output RCA connections – one full-range output and a second that is designed for use with a subwoofer amplifier. The optional ACR-1 Remote Level Control will let you fine-tune the output level of the subwoofer signal from the comfort of the driver’s seat.
