Here at Sound Depot and Performance, we are excited to be celebrating 18 years in business. Owning a local business has its ups and downs, but we are proud of our humble beginnings and how far we’ve come. For us, it has always been about how we can improve the product, installation and driving experience for our clients. The same still rings true today.
Humble Beginnings
If you could go back to 1998, you’d see us the first year our store opened. Back then, we had a very small building with only four staff members. We strived to sell the best products we could get our hands on. Our belief has always been, “if we wouldn’t own it, we wouldn’t sell it to someone else.” We are pleased that we still offer some of brands we sold in the beginning in our store today. A few years ago, we also started leasing a larger building to expand our capacities.
Community-based
Today, we are proud to say that our business has grown steadily over the years. It has always been our goal to invest in the local community here in Gainesville, and we are thrilled that we now own our current building. Being our own landlord gives us even greater potential for future expansion. Currently, you will find 14 full-time employees at our shop, and many of these people have invested more than 10 years of their lives with us. Being able to give successful careers to people in our community has always been one of our founding principles.
Future Expansion
We believe our future looks very bright. Since purchasing our building in June 2015, our dreams have only gotten bigger. Based on the feedback we received, we decided to redo our parking lot to add more room for our clients’ vehicles. We also plan to add another 4,800 sq. feet of workspace. This will allow us to add more products and services than currently offered at our store. In addition, it also gives our technicians an indoor work area to do installs on RVs and other larger vehicles. Creating a more efficient environment for our team is one of our top priorities.
Ever-growing
As you can see, Sound Depot is not resting on our laurels. We are taking the experience gained from these last 18 years and charging into the future.
