When it comes to products we sell at our store, we consider our vendors as business partners, not suppliers. For this reason, the sales reps who call on us are our direct interaction with the manufacturer. We couldn’t do it without them, and we appreciate all they do for our company.
Let’s Have a Party
One day we sat down, thought about how much we have grown these last several years, and decided it was time to start an annual company picnic and awards celebration. Can anyone say “Party”? We knew that it had to be something great because that’s what our employees and reps deserve, so we booked the Zip the Canyons facility in Ocala for the event itself.
This location provided lots of space for everyone to bring their families and enjoy a safe place to run and play all day. Fun events included zip lines, horseback riding and inflatable jump zones for the kids. You can probably imagine that some of the parents snuck in there as well.
Any Good Celebration Needs Good Food
When it came time to think about food, we wanted it to be something everyone liked. It had to be fresh, and it had to be interesting. For this reason, we contracted with Humble Pie, a brick oven catering company. Everyone could select their own pizza with any toppings their hearts desired. And as the day went on, they could always come back for more any time their heart desired. We also had freshly made snowcones for the kids, but in the end, the parents may have eaten more of them.
A Time for Recognition and Relaxation
The culmination of the day was our employee and vendor awards. It was time to single out individual employees and vendors who went the extra mile in helping us achieve our incredible success. Seeing the smiles as the awards were handed out made it all worthwhile.
The event was a great time for all of us to get away from work and enjoy a day of getting to know each other better and meet each other’s families. It truly was a special day.
