At Sound Depot and Performance in Gainesville, Florida, we see a lot of Toyota Prius’s in our install bay. Some people like to upgrade the cheap factory Toyota car speakers while others add subwoofers or amplifiers, and sometimes customers request technology upgrades. That’s exactly what we did in this case.
The client contacted us because he wanted a backup camera installed in his 2010 Toyota Prius. After we spent time with the client, showing him some of the ways we could display the backup image on his dash, he decided on the Pioneer AVH-1330NEX in-dash touchscreen radio. The client loved the idea of Apple Car Play and the seamless phone integration that it provides.
After settling on the radio, the client also chose the Echomaster PCAM-201-n lip mount rear view camera. This camera provides a nice wide angle image on his dash and neatly flush mounts on his rear lift gate.
For complete integration, we were able to install the PAC RP4.2-TY11 integration harness. This harness provides all the correct connections to make sure his factory steering wheel controls work well with his brand-new Pioneer car stereo.
Once the install was complete, the client loved the new technology upgrade in his Toyota Prius.
