A client from here in Gainesville recently visited Sound Depot and Performance to inquire about upgrading his 2018 Chevy Silverado’s stereo system. After talking to the client and having a look at the truck, we suggested a few upgrades that would dramatically improve the listening experience. The client gave us the go-ahead to add a subwoofer system to the truck and may return in the future for a second amp to drive the midrange and high-frequency speakers.
We installed a JL Audio SB-GM-SLVCC3/10TW3/BK Stealthbox under the rear seat of the truck. This fiberglass enclosure is constructed to fit perfectly and house a pair of 10-inch JL 10TW3 shallow-mount subwoofers. There is even room to mount the AudioControl LC1.800 amplifier the client chose to go between the subs.
We added an ACR-1 remote level control to the amp and mounted it on the right side of the steering column to make it easy to adjust the bass level.
