We had a client come to us from Newberry, Florida looking to improve the audio system in the 2013 Mercedes GLK350. Mercedes does a great job building fine automobiles, but they leave something to be desired with their audio systems. We consulted with this client and discussed all of their needs for the new audio system. They were very clear that they wanted the system to take up little to no room in the vehicle.
We decided to keep the factory radio in the dash because it offered the feature set that the client required. We fed the signal to a new Audiocontrol DQ-61 processor which allows us to dial in the sound and offers time alignment for a spatially accurate sound.
From there the signal went to a JL Audio XD700/5. This 5 channel amplifier supplies all the power for the system. In the doors, we installed Hertz Energy component speakers. These speakers are a big step up from factory and produce the kind of sound the client was looking for. Finally, we custom fabricated a subwoofer enclosure into the side panel of the vehicle. A single JL Audio 12TW1 subwoofer provides more than enough bass to make this client grin from ear to ear!
If you are in need of a Mercedes GLK350 audio upgrade, you have come to the right place. At Sound Depot and Performance in Gainesville, FL, we are experts in upgrading the sound in all Mercedes vehicles. We invite you to stop in, give us a call, or Contact Us today!

Hi,
What was the cost of the system and the cost for the installation? I have a base 2014 GLK and would like to update the audio system. Also, do you know if it is possible to upgrade the headlights to the bi-xenon headlights if you have a base model? I was told by Mercedes that the base model comes with different wiring from the factory and the bi-xenon headlights cannot be added by them, but I don’t mind getting it done aftermarket.
