An Alachua, FL, client for whom Sound Depot and Performance had done work before reached out to have our experts upgrade his Carolina Skiff audio system. Once we had discussed his desires, we helped him figure out his best upgrade.
We started with a Rockford Fosgate PMX-2 source unit that fit into his console to the right of the helm. Since this unit provides Bluetooth streaming and USB media input, enjoying music while cruising is easy. The signal from the PMX-2 goes into a JL Audio M400.4 four-channel amplifier via marine-grade RCA cables. The amplifier is mounted on a custom-fabricated Starboard amp rack. This material can withstand the elements and provide a stable platform. The amplifier powers four 7.7″ JL Audio M770-CCX-CG-WH speakers, two on the sides of the console and two in the transom area.
As with all of our marine audio installations, we used marine-grade terminals and power cables throughout to ensure long-term reliability.
