A client from Gainesville recently dropped by Sound Depot and Performance to talk about upgrading his 2017 Harley-Davidson Street Glide’s audio system. He wasn’t happy with the way the factory system sounded and wanted something that he could turn up a lot louder. After looking at the bike, we came up with a plan to give him the performance he wanted.
We started by installing a Diamond Audio micro-series amplifier on top of the factory radio, using a Stinger SVTK4681 amp kit designed specifically for Harley installations. The next step was to install a set of Hertz Mille Pro MPX165.3 6.5-inch speakers in the factory speaker enclosures. These speakers sound amazing and fit comfortably behind the factory Harley speaker grilles. We added a Stinger sound-deadening kit to the fairing to prevent buzzes and rattles. The last step was to reflash the factory radio to eliminate the strange EQ curve it comes with.
After a days’ work, the Harley had a sound system worthy of the reputation and stature of the bike. The client was thrilled!
