Tesla Model X Window Tint for Gainesville Client

Model X TintThe owner of this 2018 Tesla Model X recently contacted Sound Depot and Performance in Gainesville to inquire about having the front windows tinted. A member of our sales team talked to the client about his goals for the tint and, based on his feedback, helped him choose a solution that would look great and perform well on the vehicle.

The computer-cut tint results in very precise tint lines.

Our technicians did an excellent job creating a factory-look tint job on this Model 3.

The client wanted a film that would match the color of the privacy glass on the back windows of the vehicle. In these applications, we turn to 3M Color Stable film. Color Stable has a rich, black look that matches factory-tinted glass quite well. The film is constructed using nano-carbon technology, so it will never turn purple. Other brands of tint film can have a blue or brown hue that clashes with the rear windows.

Benefits of 3M Color Stable Tint Films

Model X Tint

The 3M Color Stable tint looks great an offers excellent protection

Color Stable film also helps protect the driver and passengers from harmful UV rays from the sun. Color Stable blocks 99% of UV, which is equivalent to a lotion sunblock with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 1,000.

Color Stable also provides good infrared energy rejection to help keep the interior of the vehicle cool. The 35% VLT (Visible Light Transmission) film we used on this Tesla blocks 54% of the IR energy in the 900-to-1,000-nanometer band. That’s pretty impressive and can definitely help to ease the load on the car’s cooling system. Theoretically, this can help increase the vehicle’s range, especially on really hot days.

The client loved his new window film.

After cutting the 3M window film for the Tesla Model X on our computer-controlled plotter, our technicians went through our multi-step glass cleaning process before they began the installation. The film was positioned perfectly to ensure an OEM look.

The client was very happy with the installation. The tint has the same color as the rear and back windows while remaining compliant with Florida’s 28% total light transmission laws. If you are interested in having the windows of your Tesla Model S, Model X or Model 3 tinted, please drop by our store and speak with one of our product specialists. They will help you choose from our 3M Color Stable, Crystalline, FX Premium and the new Obsidian films to ensure that you get the look, UV protection and IR rejection performance that meet your needs.
